The 13th displayed drill for 2024 is for Stafford High School from Stafford, Texas. Stafford is southwest of Houston, about 20 minutes from downtown. Their director is Rod Rodriguez. This is the 15th time I have done their show. They are a 4A UIL classified school in Region 13.
Their show is entitled Blackbird Set Free and it is arranged by John Fannin. It is in three acts and uses Blackbird by the Beatles and Firebird by Stravinsky.
The drill was written for 149 band members including 118 winds (the largest group that I do). It has 44 sets. This show was completed on June 5.
