The 24th and final show that was completed was for Wolfson High School from Jacksonville, Floriday. Jacksonville is in the northeast corner of the state and is the largest city in Florida. It is 900 due east of where I live. Their director is Cristina Ledford. This is the third time I have done their show.
The show is entitled Fire and incorporates the word Fire in each of the titles. It is in four sections entitled Aztec Fire, Firefly, Chariots of Fire, and Spitfire. The music comes from Hal Leonard, Roloff, and Alfred Publishing and is either by or arranged by Jay Bocook, Michael Brown, and Michael Story.
The band has 24 winds, 8 battery percussion, and 9 colorguard. The drill has 28 sets and would be considered a Grade 1.5 to 2 on a 1 to 5 scale making it easy in difficulty. The show was completed on September 26.
Overall, 29 drills were done plus another 15 adaptations were completed ending a very busy year. We are in the middle of competition season at the moment. We’ll see how things go as 20 shows that I did go to UIL this Saturday.
