The fourth show completed for 2019 was for Louise High School from Louise, Texas. Louise is roughly 65 miles southwest of Houston and about 40 miles northeast of Victoria. The school has 140 students which is the smallest school that I write for. They are classified as a 2A school in UIL Region 13, one of 11 schools that I write for in that region. Their director is Kasey Chitmon and this is the 2nd year I have done their show.
The show is entitled The Samurai and the Maiden and is by Randall Standridge. Movements from the show include The Warrior’s Path, Under the Cherry Blossoms, and The Duel.
The show has 41 sets and would be considered a Grade 3.5 which would be from moderate to moderatly difficult. There were 60 members to this band including 47 winds. This show was completed on May 26.
