The fourteenth show completed for 2019 was for Coahoma High School from Coahoma, Texas. Coahoma is about 60 miles northeast of Midland in deep West Texas. The school has 231 students and is classified as 3A in UIL Region 6. Their director is Michael Cason and this is the 2nd year I have done their show.
Their show is entitled Wrath and Redemption and it is by Luke McMillan. It is in three movements and features Dies Irae by Mozart, Mozart’s Requiem, Nessun Dorma, Verdi’s Requiem, Salvation is Created, and the Finale from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
The show has 44 sets and would be considered a Grade 3.5 or of moderate difficulty. There were 62 members to this band including 50 winds. This show was completed on July 16.
