The seventeenth show completed for 2019 was for Danbury High School from Danbury, Texas. Danbury is about 35 miles south of Houston and about 20 miles from where I live. The school has 246 students and is classified as 3A in UIL Region 13. Their director is Charles Fricker and this is the 4th year I have done their show.
Their show is entitled The Vampire Hunter and it is by Luke McMillan. It is in three movements and features Toccata and Fugue by Bach, Night on Bald Mountain, Hall of the Mountain King, Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, Swan Lake, Dies Irae, Requiem, and Funeral March.
The show has 27 sets and would be considered a Grade 2.5 to 3 or of moderate difficulty. There were 72 members of this band including 64 winds. This show was completed on July 23.
