Midwest Clinic, Day 0
I got to the hotel in Chicago around 5pm which was a little too late to go to the clinic and exhibit hall. I took the “L” (elevated train) to the Loop in Chicago and the Magnificent Mile. I had dinner at Ditka’s restaurant and had a good time. That I believe was the first time I have been on a train in a city before.
Anyway, back again on the 31st floor of the Hyatt McCormick Place. Tomorrow will be full blown convention day. There are a couple of clinics that I want to see; I need to visit the exhibit hall, and I am sure there is a concert or two that I’ll want to see.
This has been a bit strange. In my journeys to San Antonio for TMEA and TBA, when in the hotel lobby, I will usually see two or three people that I know from the distant or not too distant past. Today, nobody. This kind of reminds me of the first TMEA that I went to. Still, the folks in Chicago have been very friendly and so far, I am having a good time. Yes, this is my first trip to the windy city. The weather is cold but not anywhere near what I thought it was going to be. And that is a good thing. It has been nice to see the holiday theme going on here. The picture is of a Christmas tree around the Chicago Water Tower inside the loop. I will have more tomorrow.
