The sixth show completed for 2019 was for Sealy High School in Sealy, Texas. Sealy is about 50 miles west of Houston and about 140 miles east of San Antonio. The school has 849 students and are classified as a 4A school in UIL Region 27. Their director is Rolando Cantu. This is the first year I have done their show.
Their show is entitled Latin Explosion and is by Earl Fox, Michael Brown and Jay Bocook using both Alfred and Hal Leonard arrangements. Movements inclued Con Slancio, Perfidia, and Malaguena. The music is a personal favorite of mine.
The show has 39 sets and would be considered a Grade 3 or of moderate difficulty. There were 61 members to this band including 45 winds. This show was completed on June 7.
