TMEA Convention 2019 – Day 0
I arrived in San Antonio at about 4:30 today. I have registered and will be ready for tomorrow. This is the 99th year of the Texas Music Educators Association and this convention is by far the largest single state convention in the country. Registration was very easy this year and I was in and out within 10 minutes.
Tonight has been a little hectic but I did find some time to take a few pictures before heading to my 4th floor room at The Menger Hotel. The Alamo is right next door and is quiet at 10:00. I have also included a picture of the convention center, the hotel I am currently staying in (the last picture) and the Emily Morgan Hotel where 22 years ago, we spent our honeymoon (during a freezing Thanksgiving week).
Tomorrow begins convention number 24; it’s bright and early with a couple of clinics, a tour of the exhibit hall, and a couple of concerts finishing with the North Texas Wind Symphony at 8:00 pm tomorrow night. The first official update will happen tomorrow night.
