Well, though there are still four shows to be complete, in order to show all the videos for 2018 before the major competition season, we’ll get started today. Over the next few weeks I will display the 29 shows that I did for 2018.
Before I do, some thank you’s for what was a very successful season. Thank you to David Herring for his continued support, to Jeff Fackler and Drew Farmer for the opportunity to write for their companies, and a big thank you to Luke McMillan who has given me a great deal of opportunities this year. After losing perrenial schools such as Lockney, Palestine, George West, Ganado, and a few others, mostly by director change, we gained 12 new schools which made this year as successful as ever.
So, this was the one that got it started. The first show completed for 2018 is Western Hartnett High School from Lillington, North Carolina. Lillington is about 40 miles southwest of Raleigh. The school has about 1450 students and the band charted for 50 members with 35 winds. Their director is Curt Collins and this was the first year I have done their show.
Their show is entitled Tribe of the Savanna and it is by Luke McMillan. The four movements for this show are entitled Sunrise on the Village, Out on the Hunt, Stories of the Past, and Celebration.
The drill would be about a grade 3 out of 5 or medium difficulty and the show has 35 sets. This show was completed on April 28.
