The official first show for display for 2023 is for Big Spring High School from Big Spring, Texas. Big Spring is in West Texas about 30 miles northeast of Midland / Odessa. Their director is Gabriel Martinez. This is the 3rd time I have done their show.
Their show is Where There’s Hope, Theres Life, which is based on the story of Anne Frank, it’s tragedy and it’s rememberance. It is in three movements and they are arranged by Wyatt Boswell and Jay Bocook. The three movements are Equus (Eric Whitacre), Nimrod (Edward Elgar), and Sine Nomine (Ralph Vaughn Williams).
The drill is written for 131 members including 106 winds. It has 38 sets. This show was completed on July 1.
