Well…
Before I let you know of the completed shows for today, I want to wish all my Texas Band Director friends and colleagues the very best tonight as most of the state starts playing Friday Night Lights tonight. I will be thinking of you as I also think what wine goes well with salmon (I think Cherry 7Up.) In any case, best wishes and stay cool or in the case around here, stay dry.
Now, the completed shows. There are four of them today!
The 36th show completed for 2026 is for Floydada High School from Floydada, Texas. Floydada is in the Panhandle region of Texas about 60 miles northeast of Lubbock. Their director is Aaron Noland. This is the 3rd time I have done their show.
The 37th show completed for 2026 is for Tidehaven High School from El Maton, Texas. El Maton is a hamlet about 80 miles southwest of Houston near the Gulf Coast. Their director is Joel Sanchez. This is the 6th time I have done their show.
The 38th show completed for 2026 is for The Basic Academy of International Studies from Henderson, Nevada. Henderson is a suburb of Las Vegas and is about 15 miles southeast from the strip. It is the 2nd largest city in Nevada. Their director is Shaina Greensweight. This is the 2nd time I have done their show.
The 39th show completed for 2026 is for Hamlin High School from Hamlin, Texas. Hamlin is in the western part of Texas about 30 miles northwest of Abilene. Their interim director is Russell Pettitt. This is the 1st time I have done their show.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel. Currently, Orangefield. Ballinger, and University Charter are completed and are awaiting final approval. Three movements are done for Norfolk, Crosbyton, and South Walton. Two movements are done for Palacios, Lamar, Sacred Heart, Bellaire, Desert Sunrise, South East, Gering, Hitchcock, and Pauls Valley. An opener is done for Richland Center. I will be starting Odyssey Charter this weekend and that leaves one more to get started.
Still busy, but we are getting there!
