So, we are home. We got home about 4pm, just in time to watch the 49ers win! Anyway, New Orleans was wonderful though we didn’t necessarily do the typical New Orleans trip. We were in the French Quarter only once (on a Friday night, I don’t suggest doing that). This was our 5th time there and I love the city. Anne and I had a really good time.
I have found a few results from the marching contests from out of state. I am looking for the Texas results which I should be posting later this week. The ones that I do have are as follows:
Wolfson HS (FL) – 4th in Class, FFCC Fleming Island
Pauls Valley HS (OK) – 2nd Place, Beggs Invitational
Tom Bean HS (TX) – 3rd in Class, Aubrey Marching Classic
Greenville HS (MI) – 1st Place, Cedar Springs Red Flannel Marching Invitational
And one more from Greenville:
Greenville HS – 1st Division MSBOA Region 7 Marching Contest
Director: Ann Reinhard
Show – Shades of Latin by various sources from Arrangers Publishing and Hal Leonard
Years I have done their show: 2
Starting Thursday all the way to the Tuesday after next, 24 bands that I wrote for will be going to the Texas UIL Regional Contests throughout the state. And for Super Saturday which comes up this week, instead of my usual spot in the stands of Region 13, I will be a judge at the Region 10 UIL Contest at Port Neches Groves. I am looking forward to that.
Good stuff ahead!
